Home › How it works

Live in a fortnight, not a quarter.

Moving warehouse is the part everybody dreads, usually because the mapping gets done while the stock is already on the floor. We do it the other way round.

Week one · day one

We look at what you hold

A short, specific conversation. What the products are, how each line is counted, how many make a pallet, how much goes out in a normal week and where to. Enough to size the racking and be honest about whether we are the right fit.

Week one

We agree how it will run

Your cut-off times, which days deliveries go out, how goods-in bookings work — and your rates. Both are set around your business rather than off a list, which is why neither is published on this site.

Week two · before anything lands

Your products are loaded and bays set aside

The mapping happens while your stock is still at the old place. Product list in, locations reserved, portal accounts created for everyone who needs one.

Week two · first delivery

Stock arrives and gets located

Counted against your paperwork, put away into numbered bays, recorded as it happens. Your portal is live the same day, showing every line and the bays it occupies.

From then on

A normal week

You order, we ship, you check the week. The rhythm below.

What we need from you

  • A product list, with units and how many make a pallet
  • A normal week's order volumes and destinations
  • Any handling requirements — stackability, fragility, date codes
  • Email addresses for everyone who needs portal access
  • Notice of your first inbound delivery so we can have a bay ready

What you get back

A rate card and a straight answer about whether we are the right size for you — not a discovery call followed by another discovery call.

A normal week

Once you are running, the rhythm is short.

Five things happen, and four of them are you pressing a button rather than sending an email.

YOU

Order

Through the portal, built from live stock. It arrives with us marked as waiting on us, and we come back with a confirmed slot.

US

Pick and despatch

To your cut-off. Stock comes down on the ledger as it leaves, so your figure is right the moment the lorry goes.

YOU

Book goods in

When a container or pallet delivery is coming. We confirm an unloading slot back, and you can see its status the whole way.

YOU

Raise rework

If something needs relabelling or rebuilding. We quote before starting and log the time against the job.

US

Draft the week

Your charges built from what actually happened, with the jobs behind each line listed underneath.

YOU

Sign it off

Or query it, in a click. Nothing gets disputed a month later because nothing waits a month.

If you are switching from another 3PL

Switching is more common than starting from scratch, and it has its own hazards. The two that catch people out are the notice period on the outgoing contract, and the state of the stock data coming across.

On the data: whatever you have is usually fine as a starting point, but assume the quantities are approximate until we have counted it in ourselves. We count everything on arrival and give you the variance, which is often the first accurate stock figure a brand has had in a while. Better to find that out on day one than at year end.

On timing: a phased move — one product group at a time — costs slightly more in handling but removes the risk of being unable to ship for a week. For most brands it is worth it.

What a first count usually shows
Lines matching the old systemcounted in and agreedmost
Lines with a variance reported to you the same daysome
?Lines nobody knew were there it happens more than you would thinka few

You get the variance report either way. It is your stock and your number.

Common questions

How long does it take?

About a fortnight from first conversation to first container, as long as we have your product list early. Most of that time is mapping and agreeing the schedule, not waiting on us.

What are your cut-off times?

Agreed with you, not set company-wide. A multi-site kitchen operation ordering twice a week needs a different rhythm to an e-commerce brand despatching daily, so we build the schedule around your week rather than publishing a single time that suits nobody in particular.

How much does it cost?

It depends on volume, how much handling your stock needs and how long it sits, so we do not publish a price list that would be wrong for most people. Send a product list and a normal week's volumes and you will get a rate card back.

The shape is always the same: storage, unloading, picking, delivery and rework.

Can we see our stock without contacting you?

Yes — that is the point of the portal. Live stock down to the pallet location, order status, incoming containers and the current week's charges, all without ringing anyone.

Do you handle frozen or chilled stock?

Not at the moment. Storage is ambient. If your range includes frozen lines we will tell you at the first conversation rather than taking half the range.

Is there a minimum term?

No minimum term dressed up as a contract. Storage is charged on the locations you occupy, week by week.

What happens if something goes wrong?

You will be told. Every movement is recorded against whoever made it, so when there is a question about a despatch or a count there is an answer rather than a discussion.
